Promotion copies a Smart Component definition from one environment to another. Use it to move components from a development or lab environment into a higher environment like QA or production.
Smart Components cannot be promoted through the Release Management Dashboard. Promotion must be done from the Smart Components Hub.
Promote a Single Smart Component
To promote one component:
Click
Libraries in the global header, then select
Smart Components Hub.Select the
(ellipsis) on the component's row.Select Promote.
Select a destination environment and confirm.
The same Promote action is also available in the
(ellipsis) menu of the Smart Component Editor toolbar.
Promote Multiple Smart Components
To promote several components at once, use the library-wide promotion dialog:
Click
Libraries in the global header, then select
Smart Components Hub.Select Promote in the Library toolbar.
Select a Destination Environment.
In the Smart Components to Promote list, select each component to include. Use Bulk Actions to select all at once.
Review any dependency warnings. If a selected component depends on another Smart Component that is not included in the selection, that dependency is flagged. Add the missing component to the selection or proceed without it.
Select Promote in the footer, then confirm in the dialog that follows.
All selected components are promoted as a single bundled job.
Promotion History
The promotion dialog displays a history of previous promote actions for the library. Each row shows:
