When native support is not available, the [Snowflake ODBC or JDBC connector](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/ecosystem-bi) can be used instead. For a full list of compatible tools and connection guidance, see [Snowflake's BI and data visualization ecosystem documentation](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/ecosystem-bi). Once Unqork provisions your Datashare connection, use the credentials provided by Unqork Support to connect your BI tool of choice to Snowflake. --- ## Connection Credentials When Unqork provisions your Datashare connection, Support provides the following details: | Credential | Description | | --- | --- | | Account identifier | Your Snowflake account URL (for example, `xyz12345.snowflakecomputing.com`). | | Username | Your Snowflake login username. | | Password | Your Snowflake login password. | | Database | The Snowflake database containing your Unqork data. | | Schema | The schema within the database where your tables are located. | | Warehouse | The Snowflake compute warehouse used to run queries. | Keep these credentials secure. To reset credentials, submit a [Support ticket](https://support.unqork.com). --- ## Authentication Requirements When connecting a BI tool to Datashare, customers must use Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) or a secure alternative like key-pair authentication. Password-only authentication is not sufficient for BI tool connections. Snowflake supports key-pair authentication as a secure alternative to password-based login. See [Snowflake key-pair authentication documentation](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/key-pair-auth) for setup details. --- ## See Also - [Datashare](/v1/docs/datashare) - [Snowflake BI ecosystem documentation](https://docs.snowflake.com/en/user-guide/ecosystem-bi) **Changelog** | Date | Change | | --- | --- | | 2026-05-22 | Added Authentication Requirements section: MFA and key-pair authentication required for BI tool connections. | | 2026-05-13 | Initial publication. | A URL (uniform resource locator) is a unique identifier used to locate a resource on the internet. Also known as a web address. A query lets you retrieve, access, manipulate, and delete data in a database. Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security measure that requires users to provide multiple pieces of verification to access an account. Adding an extra layer of protection to prevent unauthorized access even if one credential is compromised. MFA is also known as two-step verification. A key-value pair is a fundamental data structure where a unique "key" is associated with a specific "value," used for organizing and retrieving data efficiently, like in dictionaries or databases.
