Services are reusable configurations for connecting Unqork modules to external systems, like APIs and FTP servers. Once created, a service can be referenced by any module with access to it. Creators with a Viewer role can open any service record in read-only mode. Creating, editing, and deleting services requires Administrator access. APIs act as the connective tissue between products and services. FTP (File Transfer Protocol) supports the transfer of files between an FTP client and your server. Also known as Unqork Users, or Designer Users; is anyone who is inside the Unqork platform. A URL (uniform resource locator) is a unique identifier used to locate a resource on the internet. Also known as a web address. Includes the Short Answer component, Long Answer component, Select Boxes, Radio component, Dropdown, Number component and Single Checkbox. Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a protocol that provides communication security across a network. HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol) is an application-layer protocol used to transmit hypermedia documents like HTML. Extensible Markup Language (XML) is markup language that lets you define and store data in a shareable way. A key-value pair is a fundamental data structure where a unique "key" is associated with a specific "value," used for organizing and retrieving data efficiently, like in dictionaries or databases. SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) supports the transfer of files between an SFTP client and your server. Unlike FTP, it uses tunneling and performs transfers using a crytographic protocol to keep files secure. The Internet Protocol (IP) address is a unique identifier for a device or network connected to the internet. ## Related - [Service Types](/service-types.md) - [SOAP Digital Signature Concepts](/soap-digital-signature-concepts.md) - [Mutual TLS Concepts](/mutual-tls-concepts.md)
