Express Group Administration

The Express Group Administration page is where administrators create and manage Express groups. Groups control the data access scope for end-users based on their position in the Express role hierarchy. Once created, groups are assigned to Express roles in Express Role Administration.

Important: Managing Express groups requires administrative permissions. Administrators needing access should contact their environment administrator.

Adding a Group

Click Add Group to open the Add Group form on a new page. Complete all fields and click Add Group to create the group.

Field Description
Group Name A unique name for the group.
Group Description An optional description of the group's purpose.
Group Type The data access scope assigned to end-users in this group.

Group Types

Group type controls which end-users in this group can access, relative to their position in the Express role hierarchy.

Group Type Description
Data access to role descendants only End-users can access data from roles below their own in the hierarchy.
Data access to own role and role descendants only End-users can access data from their own role and all roles below it in the hierarchy.
Data access to all roles in hierarchy End-users can access data from all roles in the hierarchy regardless of position.

Active Groups

The Active Groups table lists all groups in the environment.

Column Description
Name The group name.
Description The group description.
Type The group type assigned to the group.
Actions Click the actions menu to Edit or Delete the group.

Promote Express Groups

Click Promote All Groups to open the promotion dialog. Select the target environment and choose which groups to promote. All groups are selected by default. Use Select All and Deselect All to adjust the selection, or select individual groups using the checkboxes.
