Each module controls the user interface, business logic, and data behavior for screen or process. The fastest way to create a module is to describe what to build in the [Build Agent](/unqorkai/docs/build-agent-overview) panel. The Build Agent handles creation and configuration automatically. To create a module manually, follow the steps below. ## Steps 1. In the Explorer panel, select the ellipsis menu on an application. 2. Select **Create Module**. 3. Complete the fields described in [Module Details](/unqorkai/docs/creating-a-module#module-details) below. 4. Select **Create Module** to confirm. The new module opens immediately in the Module Builder. ## Module Details | Field | Description | | --- | --- | | **Workspace** | The workspace where the module will be created. Defaults to the current workspace. Required. | | **Application** | The application where the module will be created. Defaults to the current application. Required. | | **Module Name** | The display name for the module as it displays in the UnqorkAI platform and Explorer panel. Required. | | **Module Path** | The URL-safe identifier used in API calls and routing. Must contain lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens. Cannot begin with a hyphen. Required. | | **Module Type** | Sets the module's execution model. Options include **Front-end**, **API**, or **Other**. Defaults to **Front-end**. See [Module Settings](/unqorkai/docs/module-settings) for how Module Type affects Server-side Execution. | | **Description** | A brief description of the module's purpose. | > **Note:** Module paths created in earlier platform versions using uppercase letters are preserved exactly after upgrading to version 9.0. The upgrade does not rewrite or migrate existing paths, and all URLs, workflow references, and routing continue to resolve correctly. Path validation runs when a Creator explicitly edits the path field; saving other module settings, including name and description, does not it. A Creator can keep an existing uppercase path without being required to change it. --- **Changelog** | Date | Change | | --- | --- | | 2026-09-30 | Added two notes on module path behavior for 9.0 upgrades: existing uppercase paths are preserved, and path validation runs when the path field is explicitly edited (EN-8167). | | 2026-06-02 | Initial publication. | A URL (uniform resource locator) is a unique identifier used to locate a resource on the internet. Also known as a web address. APIs (application programming interfaces) are a set of protocols and definitions developers use to build and integrate application software. APIs act as the connective tissue between products and services. A definition Also known as Unqork Users, or Designer Users; is anyone who is inside the Unqork platform.
