3.1.5 UDLC Platform Release Notes

Release Date: Jun 26, 2025

Overview

To provide a more accurate, efficient, and insightful experience, Unqork is upgrading the UDLC Monitoring tools. We appreciate your partnership as we make these improvements. These release notes outline the crucial changes, benefits, and actions you should take to ensure a smooth transition.

There might be additional changes in the future that require updates on how you set up alerts and monitoring rules.

Core Changes

To provide more accurate and efficient metrics, logs, and monitoring experiences, Unqork is upgrading how we calculate and display certain performance metrics in our UDLC Monitoring tools.

  • Data Sampling Rate: This rate is being updated from every minute to every five minutes. This adjustment allows for more efficient data aggregation over time.

  • Metrics Represented as a Percentage: We are refining how certain metrics are represented by providing percentage data for more intuitive analysis. We are also updating our primary log source to provide deeper insights. This upgrade resolves a previous issue where some percentage-based monitors were being converted to fixed values. Our new system ensures that percentage-based monitors remain relative to the total resources, providing consistent and reliable monitoring as your needs evolve.

  • Supported Data: Previously, only AWS data was supported. These changes now support data from AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.

These changes are designed to give you more actionable data while improving system performance.

Migration Details

Unqork is committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. While the migration of your existing monitors to the new system is automatic, we recommend reviewing these changes to ensure alerting thresholds and values still meet your needs.

Below are the details of the relevant changes:

Application Server Metrics

Metric Previous State New State

Memory Monitoring

Displays as an absolute value.

Displays memory usage as a percentage (%).

Load Monitoring

Displays as an absolute value.

Displays as a percentage (%). Due to the new five-minute sampling rate, the load average timeframe is 5, 10, and 15 minutes.

Database Metrics

Metric Previous State New State

Memory Monitoring

Displays as an absolute value.

Displays memory usage as a percentage (%).

Operations per Second

Displays a count that varies based on the selected timeframe.

Displays as a rate per second. Doing so provides more accurate and consistent data, regardless of the timeframe.

Important Considerations

As you begin to use these new capabilities, please note the following:

  • Availability of Historical Metrics: The data for these new metrics is available on the date the upgrade is activated. Queries attempting to access data from before this activation date are not supported at this time.

We are dedicated to the continuous improvement of our platform. Our team is actively developing a long-term strategy to introduce even more comprehensive insights and advanced observability features. We are committed to keeping you informed as our platform's capabilities continue to evolve. We appreciate your partnership and look forward to the value these improvements bring to your experience.
