# Translations

The **Translations** panel lets Creators add language locales and manage translated text for a module. When translations are enabled, end-users see labels and messages in their selected language. To open the panel, select **Translations** from the Tools drop-down.

## Toolbar

The Translations toolbar provides controls for enabling, adding, and managing locales.

| Control | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Enable Translations** | When checked, this setting activates translation support for the module. End-users see translated text in Express when a matching locale is active. |

| **Discard Changes** | Reverts any unsaved changes to the translation table. |
| **Save Translations** | Saves the current translation values. Saving translations does not save the module itself. |

## Translation Table

The translation table lists every translatable string in the module. Each row represents one source string.

| Column | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **English (Source)** | The original text key as it displays in the module. This column is read-only. |
| Locale columns | One column per added locale. Each cell accepts the translated text for that string. Click **Add translation...** in any cell to enter text. Translations are stored globally per field. If the same field key is used in multiple modules, the translation values are shared across all of them.

Also known as Unqork Users, or Designer Users; is anyone who is inside the Unqork platform.

End-users, also known as Express Users, are the individuals accessing an application through Express View. In most cases, end-users are the customers using the product.

The Unqork front-end application framework that delivers Creator-built applications to end-users. Express is the layer end-users interact with—the published forms, screens, and navigation built in the Module Builder. Express is distinct from Express View, which is a Creator-facing preview tool in the IDE.

A string is an object that represents a sequence of characters. Strings typically hold data represented in text form.

A key-value pair is a fundamental data structure where a unique "key" is associated with a specific "value," used for organizing and retrieving data efficiently, like in dictionaries or databases.
