Its behavior depends on the swimlane it's placed in: - **Automated swimlane**: Runs a module automatically without end-user interaction. Use the **Task Type** setting to choose between **Service** and **Script**. - **Authenticated swimlane**: Presents a module to the end-user as a step in the workflow. The task type is always User—no task type selection is available. > **How to read settings tables** > > > The tables below describe each configurable option as it displays in the UnqorkAI platform. Values are formatted as follows: `inline code` — a value to type exactly as shown | **Bold** — a value selected from a drop-down, radio button, tab, or choice chip | **ON**/**OFF** — toggle state | ✓ — checkbox checked | ☐ — checkbox unchecked ## Settings ### Automated Swimlane #### Task Module | Setting | Field | Type | Default | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Task Type | `taskType` | Drop-down | **Script** | The type of task to execute. Options include: **Service** or **Script**. | | Label | `label` | Text input | `task-{n}` | A display name for the node. Supports template expressions (for example, `task-{{ data.number }}`). | | Path | `nodeId` | Text input | `task-{n}` | The unique identifier automatically generated for the node. Preset and not editable. | | Module | `form` | Module selector | — | The module to execute. | | Create New Module | — | Button | — | Opens the Module Builder to create a new module and connect it to this Task node. | #### Validation | Setting | Field | Type | Default | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Save Data | `updateData` | Toggle | OFF | When set to **ON**, this setting saves submission data after the task executes. | | Validate Data | `validateData` | Toggle | OFF | When set to **ON**, this setting validates submission data after the task executes. | ### Authenticated Swimlane #### Task Module | Setting | Field | Type | Default | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Label | `label` | Text input | `task-{n}` | A display name for the node. Supports template expressions (for example, `task-{{ data.number }}`). | | Path | `nodeId` | Text input | `task-{n}` | The unique identifier automatically generated for the node. Preset and not editable. | | Screen Type | `screenType` | Radio button | **Static** | The method for determining which module to display. | > - **Static**: Select a module directly from a list. > - **Module** (`form`, Module selector): The module to display. > - **Create New Module** (Button): Opens the Module Builder to create a new module and connect it to this Task node. > - **Dynamic**: Load a module at runtime using a Property ID. To loop through a variable set of modules using this setting, see [Loop Through Modules Dynamically](/unqorkai/docs/loop-through-modules-dynamically). > - **Property ID** (`propertyId`, Property ID): The Property ID of a field containing the module ID to load at runtime. #### Actions | Setting | Field | Type | Default | Description | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | Hide Express Navigation Buttons | `disableNavigationButtons` | Toggle | OFF | When set to **ON**, this setting hides the Save and Exit button on this task's Express View page. | | Back Button Label | `prev` | Text input | — | The label for the back navigation button. Supports template expressions (for example, `{{ data.previous }}`). | | Next Button Label | `next` | Text input | — | The label for the forward navigation button. Does not work in a subprocess or an automation swimlane. | --- **Changelog** | Date | Change | | --- | --- | | 2026-10-19 | Corrected the setting name to **Task Type**. | | — | Initial publication. | End-users, also known as Express Users, are the individuals accessing an application through Express View. In most cases, end-users are the customers using the product. Label Text conveys what the input component is and what information it displays. Enter the purpose of the corresponding component or field. A Property ID is the unique field ID used by Unqork to track and link components in your module. The Unqork front-end application framework that delivers Creator-built applications to end-users. Express is the layer end-users interact with—the published forms, screens, and navigation built in the Module Builder. Express is distinct from Express View, which is a Creator-facing preview tool in the IDE. Express View is how your end-user views your application. Express View also lets you preview your applications to test your configuration and view the styling. This is also the view your end-users will see when interacting with your application. After configuring a module, click Preview in the Module Builder to interact with the module in Express View.
