Creators (the builders of Unqork applications, comparable to developers in traditional software) describe what they want to build in plain language. The Build Agent generates a plan, configures components, connects logic, and runs tests automatically. The platform handles infrastructure, security, and execution so Creators can concentrate entirely on the application. Understanding how the platform is structured helps Creators work alongside the Build Agent more effectively. Precise prompts, review, and targeted changes all become easier with a clear mental model of the structure. ## Building Blocks Unqork applications are organized in the following hierarchy: - **Workspace**: The top-level container. Workspaces organize related applications and control who has access to them. Every application belongs to a workspace. - **Application**: A collection of modules that together make up a complete product or feature. Applications define the entry point that end-users access. - **Module**: The core building block of any Unqork application. A module controls the interface, logic, and data behavior for one screen or process. Modules can be front-end interfaces, API endpoints, or backend logic. - **Component**: An individual element in a module, like a text field, button, data connector, or piece of logic. Components are configured with settings and connected through Property IDs. ## UnqorkAI Platform The UnqorkAI platform is where Creators build and manage applications. It includes the following: - **Module Builder**: The primary workspace for building modules. The Build Agent is built directly into the Module Builder. Creators can prompt the agent or configure components manually across three views: Config View, UI View, and Logic View. - **Workflow Builder**: A separate canvas for building automated workflows that run behind the scenes, independent of any module. - **Administration**: Environment-level settings for managing Creators, roles, services, and configuration. ## Build Agent and AI The UnqorkAI Build Agent is integrated into the Module Builder. For a full overview of the Build Agent, Smart Components, and AI components for end-users, see [UnqorkAI Overview](/unqorkai/docs/unqorkai-overview). ## Production Applications End-users access the production application through a browser, not through the UnqorkAI platform. Express View is a built-in preview that lets Creators test the application as end-users see it before promoting to production. --- **Changelog** | Date | Change | | --- | --- | | 2026-09-15 | Trimmed Build Agent section to a link — UnqorkAI Overview now owns the AI layer; condensed Express View (EN-8116). | | 2026-06-02 | Initial publication. | Also known as Unqork Users, or Designer Users; is anyone who is inside the Unqork platform. A functionality of a software. For example, Copy and Paste is a feature of a computer's operating system. End-users, also known as Express Users, are the individuals accessing an application through Express View. In most cases, end-users are the customers using the product. APIs (application programming interfaces) are a set of protocols and definitions developers use to build and integrate application software. APIs act as the connective tissue between products and services. An API endpoint is the location where an API receives requests for a specific resource on its server. It's the point of contact between an API client and an API server, and is usually a uniform resource locator (URL) that provides the location of the resource. A Property ID is the unique field ID used by Unqork to track and link components in your module. The UI (user interface) is a device's end-user interaction and communication point. It can include display screens, keyboards, and mouse. It is also how a user interacts with your application. Express View is how your end-user views your application. Express View also lets you preview your applications to test your configuration and view the styling. This is also the view your end-users will see when interacting with your application. After configuring a module, click Preview in the Module Builder to interact with the module in Express View.
